This is amazing. I had actually never heard of The Spirit before but I love pulp comics and "masked" heroes. Originally running in the papers during the 1940s, Matt Wagner has taken the story to 1946 and The Spirit has been missing 2 years, presumed dead. This year-long series fantastically drawn by Dan Schkade starts with The Spirit's return and encompasses two story arcs. Spirit is just like the best masked-heroes, full of brawn and derring-do. He wears a blue suit and hat with a red tie and a little blue eye mask. It's a great story full of action and the criminals reminded me of Bond villains. A great read bringing back a classic hero from the past.
