Suicide Squad (Rebirth) Volume 1: The Black Vault by Rob Williams
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I'm a Suicide Squad fan but haven't watched the movie so can't comment on that connection. I enjoyed this volume but am a bit mixed about it. The actual mission the team goes on was fun and had a good villain but it only takes up 2 issues of this 5-issue volume. The book begins with an issue detailing Rick Flag's induction into the Squad as its new leader, then the mission follows. Finally, the last two issues are character pieces featuring a background on four team members and how they came to join the squad. All very entertaining but I was hoping for a more cohesive plot.
