Britannia by Peter Milligan
Britannia by Peter Milligan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A mythological story involving the Romans and the Druids in Roman Britain. A decent enough supernatural horror with a bit of gore. However, it contains too much story for its short length such that no thread or character gets fully realized. The end of each issue (4 in all) contains a textual history lesson which interrupted the flow of the story. These were on the Vestal Virgins, Nero, Centurians and religion in Roman Britain. Well written but I skipped the last two as they were interrupting the reading of the story for me. I think they probably worked much better in the individual comics than this trade compilation.
