Red Hood and the Outlaws (Rebirth) Vol. 1: Dark Trinity by Scott Lobdell
Red Hood and the Outlaws (Rebirth) Vol. 1: Dark Trinity by Scott Lobdell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read Vol. 2 first and had to go back and read this first volume to find out how this "dark trinity" first came together. This is a very good volume 1 in that it introduces the characters so that newbies can get the gist of who they are. While being the story of how Red Hood puts together these particular members to his new team, it is also Jason's whole background story. Switching from "Now" to "Then" Jason's story is covered from his days as an orphan, meeting Batman, becoming Robin, being killed by Joker and resurrected in the Lazarus Pit. The main story has Hood and Batman deciding Jason will go undercover as a bad guy to catch the villain, Black Mask. Great story, even though the Black Mask plot was predictable.
